Mike Kane MP starts the construction of our new Sharston Warehouse
This morning, Mike Kane, MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East, attended our official groundbreaking ceremony, to formally mark the start of construction of our new 40,000 sq ft warehouse facility in Sharston.
The warehouse and office facility is being built on 2.8 acres of prime development land. The site is less than a kilometre from our head office on Leestone Road, and adjacent to our historic Grade II listed warehouse on Harling Road.
The additional space will be used as a further storage for 3PL clients, which include importers of toys, clothes and furniture.
Completion is scheduled for January 2018 and it will create 20 new jobs with 10 existing employees also moving from head office.
Our CEO, Brian Hay said: “Our 38,000 sq. ft. head office and Harling Road facilities were at full capacity, it was vital that we looked for additional space. The 2.8 acres next to the existing building have allowed us to build our third facility in the Wythenshawe area and create more local jobs.”
Brian added: “We are continuing to see impressive growth at Cardinal Maritime and, as a result, we are actively looking for potential new sites in the local area to construct further warehousing space. As a company, we are committed to the local area and developing local talent. Our aim is to train and inspire the next generation of freight professionals here in Wythenshawe.”
