Mike Kane, MP officially opens our new 40,000 sq ft Warehouse
On 26th February 2018 we unveiled our new 40,000 sq ft logistics facility on Sharston Road, Wythenshawe. The additional new site is less than a kilometre from our head office on Leestone Road.
Mike Kane, MP for Wythenshawe and Sale East was on hand to officially cut the ribbon, opening the new building. The new site will create around 30 new jobs for the area and will see around 20 existing employees move from our nearby head office.
The new facility, designed by architects HBL Associates, will provide much needed further warehouse and office space for the growing business. It will be used by the business as a storage for 3PL clients, who range from importers of Toys, Fashionwear, Furniture, Home Appliances and many other consumer focused items, most of which are sold on-line.
The construction was led by ACS Construction. The ground was broken back in May 2017 with build taking just under nine months, right on schedule.
We are much in need of the increase in space due to our continuous growth. 2017 ended on a high with our turnover at £85million, up £20 million from 2016. 2018 turnover is currently predicted at around £115 million.
Last year we opened four new offices in South East Asia bringing in 60 new colleagues. The new offices are in Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao and Hong Kong. Our technology-led approach to supply-chain logistics has enabled us become the UK’s fastest growing business in its sector.
In Wythenshawe, Cardinal is committed to developing talent from within the local area, with over 30% of its current workforce living within 5 miles of its head office (+200 people in total).

Brian Hay, CEO, Cardinal Maritime said: “2018 looks set to be another good year for Cardinal.
